Dear Jill,
Yesterday our social studies class got to experience a milder version of what you do every day. We got to walk barefoot from Santa Barbara Middle School to Rocky Nook Park, about half a mile, with 1,2, and 3 gallon containers. For extra credit we could do it without shoes. We filled our containers with water at a tap and walked another half mile back to my school. Did you know 1 gallon weighs 8 pounds, so you must carry about 40 pounds a day! If anyone in my class carried that much, their back would break. How do you manage? You must be very string to be able to carry that as far as you do. Do you have to carry it only in the morning, or both morning and evening? Do you go with other children, or do you only go with your brother, like in the picture? What happens if you trip and spill water, do you have to go back and carry more? I hope that there will someday be running water i your home or at the very least in your village. I also hope that you get shoes for your feet when you walk to the water.

Nice job! A few typos that I saw but otherwise great entry.
Naming her, Jill. Nice touch. I like all your questions. S
